Sometimes you become what you never thought you could be. This is truly the case with Joanna Petsalis. Though many of her friends and loved ones recognized the writer in her, it took her some time to find it in herself. For many years she felt that having English as her second language may hinder her ability to elucidate her life experience. But now that she has, Ms. Petsalis has created a beautiful memoir of her youth. Through her publishing company, Joanna Petsalis has released her memoir and continues to write more of her life story and the stories of others for future publication.

About the Author
Joanna Petsalis
Joanna Petsalis did not always know she would be a writer. After immigrating to the United States in 1969, she spent much of her life as an educator and translator in foreign languages (Greek and French), working in banking and financing and the co-owner of a Marine business with her husband. It is her experiences in the business world, however, that has given Joanna the knowledge and insight to start Bibliopublishing LLC.

Joanna discovered her interest in writing, later in life, and decided to pursue it. It was after this discovery that she began attending a writer’s circle. After much encouragement, Joanna completed "Annoula" with the desire to complete and publish the rest of her autobiography as well as other stories of her life’s experiences.

Joanna currently resides in Madeira Beach, Florida and makes frequent trips to her birth country of Greece where she has maintained close childhood friendships.

"Annoula: Memories of an Immigrant Teen"
Everyone’s story is different. As true as this statement may be, for immigrants, there are many commonalities that each individual endures as they try to not only progress, but also survive in their new environment. "Annoula: Memories of an Immigrant Teen" is Joanna Petsalis’s autobiography; the story of a sixteen year old girl trying to find her way in her new world. The year is 1969, and after a childhood in Greece, Joanna must now find not only her way, but also herself in a completely diverse culture; a culture she perceived to be filled with chaos, including hippies, drugs and alcohol. "Annoula" is a story of a young girl’s ambition, hopes, dreams, fears, secrets and desires. It is the story of a young immigrant’s life.

With "Annoula," Joanna Petsalis wanted more than to write part of her memoir. She wanted to encourage all teens and adults to share their feelings and to know that they are not alone. She hopes to inspire and spark interest in reading and writing true life stories with the goal to achieve honest and positive results within one's self. Her intention is to create a support system among peers of all young adults. "Annoula" is an important story that shows how she became the woman she is today. It shows an important journey from the young immigrant girl to the successful woman she would become.
